Member Spotlights
Jan Law
January’s Larry Acterman Award recipient is Millikan’s Jan Law. Jan has been teaching at Millikan since 1999 and has been a strong TALB rep since 2003. Whether it is helping run elections, representing teachers, enforcing the contract or just keeping her members informed she has exemplified what a strong union rep should be. TALB would like to thank Jan for all her hard work at Millikan on behalf of the Association and the members there.
Marion Nguli
October’s TALB Larry Acterman Award recipient is Lincoln Elementary’s Marion Nguli. Marion has been an Association Representative at Lincoln and previously at Hudson K-8. She has done a fantastic job this year organizing her site for Measure T, recruiting additional Reps at her site, and ensuring the TALB members at Lincoln are kept up to date on all the changes occurring in the district. While Marion has always been a very dependable Rep she has done an outstanding job communicating and engaging members this year as we head into difficult budgetary times.
Thanks for all your hard work, Marion!
Vicky Clanton
Vicky Clanton is the recipient of the September 2009 Larry Acterman Award. Vicky has been serving students for 26 years and is currently a Resource Specialist Teacher at Emerson Elementary. Vicky exemplifies all the attributes one would expect of a Larry Acterman Award recipient. She is dedicated to ensuring that the members at Emerson are respected and treated fairly and that the contract is enforced. She keeps members informed of the latest developments and is always prepared to resolve any contract issues. The members at Emerson rely on Vicky and know that they have a true Union advocate representing them.
It is with pleasure that TALB recognizes Vicky Clanton as the September 2009 Larry Acterman Award recipient. Vicky is pictured here with TALB President Mike Day and Millikan Elementary Area Board of Director Charles Snell.
